Hoi!


We are Nick and Lili, we live on a peaceful island on the border of Zaandam, in a special place close to the Zaanse Schans and the Natural Reserve Area of Kalverpolder, near Amsterdam. We speak Dutch, English, French, Spanish and Portuguese in both human and dog language ;)

Although we don’t have our own dogs currently, we love animals, and are lucky to have a fun "fauna" here already: from a turtle that visits from time to time to all kinds of waterfowl, including "Justine" the now 9 years old wild duck that was born on the island just when we moved here, she's become our adopted pet!

Our 'dogiculum': Nick was brought up in France and Spain, raised with a lot of Irish Setters. Lili, growing up in Brazil made her very familiar with all types of street and rescue dogs. 

After more than 3 years as dog sitters, we have the experience of over 100 happy clients. It has also been an educational journey for us learning about dogs, their various quirks, characters and even becoming a part of their lives.

We believe dogs get a quite unique experience here with us, as they can exist in near total freedom; In a pack, playing, foraging, chilling or even sleeping together, but with our constant near-presence. This puts them at ease, and since it's very peaceful and noiseless, it eases the dogs into an more overall relaxed state while they are away from their regular families. That's how we reached progressively this “spa-like” environment.. Of course, if we have only one guest, they stay with us in the main house, with even more pampering ;)

Some extra info:

. Our island has 3 main buildings, one of them is the guesthouse transformed into a doggyhouse. It’s surrounded by a big 'foresty garden’ and the super clean air. They have a fenced and safe area at their disposition for playing and lounging outside.

. As we both work from home, we have lots of time, cuddles and love for our guests, and so they are usually supervised 24/7.

. Walks are included as they have access to the foresty part of the island whenever we go walking in the island's paths or when we are gardening/etc.. 

. We do not take dogs that are either too anxious, overly protective or aggressive (ie. German Shepherds, Stafforshire-types, Pitbulls, etc).
