Hi dog owners!

We are Katarina (27) and Luka (30) from Croatia:) We're a married couple in our late twenties, living and working in Amsterdam (Buitenveldert) since 2020. Both of us grew up with dogs and can’t wait to have one of our own once we get our own place. I got my golden retriever, Colin, when I was 9, and he meant the world to me. After he passed away and I moved to Amsterdam with Luka, I realized how much I missed having a dog around. So, at the beginning of 2024, we discovered Pawshake and created our account right away. Since then, life abroad has taken on a whole new meaning! ❤️

We’ve had the pleasure of dogsitting over at least 30 different breeds as well as rescue dogs. We also often have dogs staying for 2-3 weeks and sometimes even a month. We prefer dogboarding as we get to adapt to the dog's daily routine and we establish a better connection:) As a neuroscientist, I especially enjoy learning about the behaviors of various breeds. If you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend the Netflix documentary Inside the Mind of a Dog—it’s super cute and fascinating!

About our work/lifestyle

We both have hybrid jobs. I work from home 3-4 days a week, and Luka does 2 days, therefore our dog guests can have 24-hour supervision. On the weekends we like being outdoors, so we often go to Amsterdamse bos, Amstel park, or the beach. We have a car so it's easy for us to explore new places with the dogs. The car also comes in handy if we need to take a dog to the vet.

About our home 🏡

We live right in front of tram station Van Boshuizenstraat in a 65m2 apartment on the second floor. We have a balcony, lift, and a small, unfenced park right in front of the building. For daily walks we usually go to the very nice forest/canal path that separates Amsterdam from Amstelveen or we go to Gijsbrecht van Amstel park. Basically, we can reach beautiful nature with just a 5-minute walk!

• Taking the dog to the vet if something happens

• Puppy-safe environment. Actually, many of the dogs we sitted were less than a year old. Our first guest was also the youngest guest, a 3-month-old beagle whom we watched grow up.🫶🏼
• Going for regular walks - we adapt to your dog's usual routine
• Giving food, water, treats etc. - at your defined schedule
• Lots of love and cuddles😊
