Experienced house and pet sitter here! I joined Pawshake because I love animals and miss having them around. I’ve had pets my whole life - my childhood dog Pierrot who never left my side, my Border Collie Blue was too smart (and a little jealous!), and my beloved cat Kitty lived to 19. I even had hamsters, Spike and Spikey, and once sponsored an otter named Rice! I've travelled to Norway and London to pet sit dogs and cats too so no problem to take on bookings outside of Amsterdam😉.

I offer doggy or kitty daycare at your home (not mine) and can also do overnight stays. With over 20 years of experience (before Pawshake even existed😲), I understand pets' needs, love their unique personalities, and don’t mind a little mess!

About me:

Dutch- American, born in Belgium, raised in NY, and now in Amsterdam, I’ve also been an Airbnb host and guest abroad as well as in The Netherlands, so I know how to care for homes and pets responsibly. I'm currently single, no kids and no pets making it easy for me to travel around easily and at different times of the year. I have reviews on Pawshake, and Airbnb, and have a few regular clients in Amsterdam. Homeowners describe me as reliable, trustworthy, caring, flexible, good at solving problems and very clean. 

My approach:

From my extensive experience, I know the first couple of days are key. There's often a 'honeymoon phase' as your pets get comfortable with me, I get familiar with your home's unique routines and guidelines, and you get comfortable with me. Please don't be surprised if I message you with a question in the beginning. I want to be 100% sure I'm using the auto-feeder correctly or interpreting your pet’s behavior accurately!

My core approach is simple: your pet's well-being is my top priority. I have extensive experience sitting for pets with trauma, aggression, separation anxiety, or those who simply don't like new people. My goal is always to ensure they feel safe and unstressed. I will carefully follow your suggestions to provide the consistent, patient, and calm presence you think is best while taking care of all their feeding, cleaning, and playtime needs. I'm also happy to make suggestions based on my experience to ensure they have the best possible care.

A quick note on overnight stays:

My standard overnight service includes staying at your home through the evening and night, and I will spend a good part of the next morning with your pet. If your pet requires someone to be present for the *entire* following day, please let me know so we can discuss options for extended care.
