My name is Catarina, I’m 37 years old, and I’ve been living in the Netherlands for almost 5 years. I come from (sunny) Portugal!

I previously owned 4 mountain dogs (Serra da Estrela dogs, from Portugal - I'm sure you'll be able to identify them in my gallery!) for over 10 years, and over the past few years I’ve also been pet sitting for friends - mostly dogs at first, as I’ve always been a dog person, but I eventually had to give in to cats as well.

I live in Haarlem, but I mostly pet sit in Amsterdam, and I’m happy to commute,  preferably for at least 3 days/nights at your place (although I can be flexible depending on my availability and your needs). I can work from home quite often; however, I do need to go to the office sometimes (which is in Amsterdam), but this is something we can always discuss beforehand (also depending on the duration of the stay).

I have experience with both puppies and senior dogs. As for cats, it’s been mostly the same (although they’re usually over 1 year old). But honestly, who can resist a kitty?

I’m always happy to take care of them and make them feel as comfy as possible, as I know how hard it can be for them when their humans are away!

I’ll always walk dogs on a lead, especially at first, as they’re not yet used to me. Unless they’re fully trained, I prefer to stay on the safe side while still letting them enjoy the company of other dogs, if that’s something they like and that makes them happy. A wagging tail goes a long way.

Long walks, shorter strolls, or simply some fresh air and (couch) company - count me in! 

In case of an emergency, even though I don’t own a car, I’ll always make sure your pet is seen by a vet as soon as possible - if needed and available, I also have a driving license.
