Hi, thanks for checking my profile!

My name is Rebecca, and I absolutely love dogs. I grew up with dogs around me, and for the majority of my life had a dog of my own (a Golden Retriever called Lena). Originally from Switzerland, I moved to the Netherlands four years ago to study at University. Although I would love to have a dog of my own again, I don't have enough financial stability for that just yet - thus dog sitting is a great solution for me!

I feel super comfortable around all dogs, big or small, male or female. I am also okay with giving medicine if needed, and would love to try and teach some tricks if you want!

I offer dog walking, home visits, house sitting, doggy daycare, and home dog boarding... I am generally just happy to be around those four-legged energy bundles. Next to that, it's a great way to stay active :-) Below some more information on each service:

Dog walking: I live only a street away from the Catharijnesingel, where it is great to go on walks with dogs! Walking times would range from 30 min to 2 hours, depending on the needs of your dog. Depending on where you live, I am happy to take your dog on walks in their known environment, or explore new areas with them. What is important to me is to align well with you and your dogs needs, and adjust accordingly. I offer one long walk or one to two short walks per day.

Home visits: From the centre of Utrecht I can reach most neighbourhoods with a breezy 10 min cycle. On a typical home visit, I would stay between 30 min to 1 hour, where I make sure your pet is in a clean environment, has enough to drink, give food if required, and take your dog(s) outisde to the toilet. Next to that I am happy to spend time playing with your pet, and check that the house is alright (mail, garbage, windows closed, etc.).

House sitting: During a house sit I stay at your house while you are gone and make sure your house and your pet(s) are well taken care of. Next to the services of house visits, I would also take your dog(s) on a long walk or two shorter ones (depending on what we agree on). I will make sure your house is clean and not leave the pets alone for more than 3 hours - and of course send daily (photo) updates of your furry friend to you :-).

Doggy daycare: I live in an apartment in the city centre where pets are more than welcome! Your dog will be free to move around in my flat, and I will make sure it is safe for them to do so (i.e. nothing to hurt them or that they could ingest). Next to feeding and playing with them, I will take your dog on walks as needed, either (multiple) shorter ones of 30 min or longer ones of 1-2 hours. I live with one roommate who is also happy to be around dogs, but their care will be fully in my hands. We have no pets of our own.

Cats: Unfortunately I am slightly allergic to cats, which means that I can be around them for house visits and sitting, but cannot host them in my own apartment.

Home dog boarding: Next to the services of doggy daycare, I will make sure your dog has a comfortable place to sleep where they feel safe. I will make sure that they are not left alone for more than 3 hours, and have enough to eat, drink, play - overall that they have a great time with me! I only board one dog or one "household" of 1-2 dogs at the same time, to make sure I have enough time and attention for them.

Cats: Unfortunately I am slightly allergic to cats, which means that I can be around them for house visits and sitting, but cannot host them in my own apartment.

Note on my own apartment: I live on the first floor, and the entry stairs are fairly steep - see the photo gallery. If your dog is small I am happy to carry them up and down, but if you have a larger dog they need to be able to walk up and down the stairs themselves.

I am currently doing a Master study in Sustainable Business & Innovation at the UU. Next to being passionate about dogs, I enjoy photography and filmmaking, drawing, sewing, and I am currently learning to rollerskate (it's a slow but steady progress). :-)

As a person, you will usually see me smiling from ear to ear. Honesty and empathy are super important to me, and caring for others is in my nature.
