Background

Hi!

I am a 32 year old professional who works full time (from home) and an experienced pet owner and volunteer (stichting Wereldhonden) who has always had pets growing up. I am also currently the proud dog dad to Basil - a super friendly brown Lab.

Through volunteer work I've got experience with boarding and lodging anxious/traumatised dogs and socialising them to life here as they go through the adoption process so feel free to ask more about that. Also quite some experience with training (puppy) dogs.

Walks

I walk on average 5-6km per day with my own dog and we go out 4 times per day.

2 walks are short walks around 30 minutes and 2 walks are longer usually between 60-90 minutes including some time in an off lead park to allow socialisation with other dogs.

Walks always include an element of training (sit/stay/focus on walker, pull correction, sitting when waiting to cross the street etc) and play (fetch and play with other dogs).

I have multiple (fenced) off lead fields near me within 10-15 minutes walk and also one off larger off lead park which isn't fenced.

I like to use on lead walk time to also do some light training (attention to walker, stopping before crossing, sit/stay etc)

Training

Having followed multiple basic and intermediate training courses with my own dog and as a volunteer foster dad for dogs acclimatising to NL from abroad I am happy to discuss how I could help in basic training while taking care of your pet

Home

I live in an apartment that is 80+ square metres with a lift and plenty of open space (including a balcony) with a park literally in front of my building.

I don't have any housemates so it's just me, Basil (my brown Lab) and potentially your pet :)

I work full time but from home and have the flexibility to plan my day around walking and caring for my own dog.

Special needs

As mentioned through volunteering as a foster family I have experience with dogs with behavioural challenges and I am happy to discuss any special attention your furry friend may need.

I am also comfortable and experienced in administering medication in multiple forms if need be.

Other info

I have my own car so often take my own dog to the beach or other nature areas. I can also help with drop offs or pick ups if need be.

Please note I do this as I am passionate about animals and enjoy their company. I have a dog already and also enjoy seeing him playing with others. It's therefore critical for me (and you) that there's a good click and we feel comfortable therefore I always meet my potential guests together with my dog to get to know each other and make sure we're a good match :)
