Over Aimilia
A little bit about me is that I’m a law student, lifelong animal lover, and the kind of person who will absolutely stop mid conversation because there’s a dog walking past.
I grew up on a farm in Greece surrounded by animals, so caring for them has always been a very normal part of my life. We had both cats and dogs growing up, and I learned quite early that every animal has its own personality, routine and very strong opinions about how things should be done. Later, when I lived in Scotland, I became the unofficial dog sitter for my neighbours. I regularly looked after and walked their dogs when they were working, travelling or simply needed an extra pair of hands.
Over the years, I’ve cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters and other rodents, as well as reptiles. I’ve also had many pets of my own. One of the most special was my little blind hamster, who required some extra patience and care and was genuinely the love of my life. I currently own a fat cat with insane personality quirks which make my day and two dogs who have been with me through thick and thin which were all adopted from the streets of Greece, each with their own little character which completes our family back home!
While so, I’m comfortable with different personalities too, energetic dogs who want to explore everything, shy cats who need their space, clingy pets who would happily spend the entire day next to you, and the slightly dramatic ones who act as though dinner being five minutes late is a personal betrayal.
I’m happy to help with walks, feeding, playtime, cuddles, keeping pets company, cleaning up after them and following their usual routines. If your pet has specific habits, feeding times, favourite walking routes, commands, fears or little quirks, please tell me! I’d much rather know that your dog refuses to walk down one particular street or that your cat demands dinner at exactly 18:03 than accidentally disturb their very important schedule.
I’m currently studying law at university, so pet sitting fits really nicely around my studies. My schedule can be flexible, and I’m always open to discussing what you need whether that’s occasional walks, a full day, overnight care or a longer stay, as long as I can combine it with my university commitments. Studying also means I spend quite a bit of time reading at home, so having a furry study companion beside me is honestly an upgrade.
I live in student accommodation with friends who are also animal lovers and are very comfortable having pets around. The house works best for cats and small to medium-sized dogs because the indoor space is somewhat limited. Bigger dogs are also absolutely welcome here, they would just need to be comfortable spending plenty of time outside on walks and adventures rather than expecting a mansion to sprint around indoors! I genuinely love walking, so I’m more than happy to give active dogs the exercise and outdoor time they need.
I also have a bike, so I can travel locally for walks and visits, although if you live further away or your pet is staying with me, we may need to arrange drop-off and collection.
Most importantly, I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone else. They’re not just “animals you need someone to feed” they’re part of your family and i fully respect this. I’ll always try to make them feel safe, comfortable and loved while you’re away, follow your instructions carefully and keep you updated so you don’t have to wonder what they’re doing.
I’m genuinely happy to care for almost any little (or not-so-little) creature, although dogs and cats are definitely my favourites and are the best fit for my home. Tell me everything about your pet their personality, routine, favourite treats, weird habits and whether I should expect them to love me immediately or judge me from across the room for the first three hours.
Either way, I’ll do my best to cater to their little needs 🐾🫶🏼
