Hi! I’m Matias, an artist based in the Netherlands, and I grew up surrounded by pets. Being around animals has always been second nature to me, and over time I’ve developed a strong, intuitive connection with them. Since I moved away from home, I’ve really missed having animals in my daily life, which is why pet sitting has become something I truly value. Because I work as an artist, I have a very flexible schedule and spend most of my time at home or in my studio. This allows me to give pets a lot of attention, care, and presence throughout the day. I don’t just “check in”—I genuinely spend time with them, keeping them company, playing, and making sure they feel calm and safe. I have solid previous experience caring for both dogs and cats, and I’m especially comfortable with friendly dogs and cats of all kinds, personalities, and sizes. I adapt easily to their individual routines and behaviors, whether they are playful, calm, or a bit more shy at first. I live next to the Noorderplantsoen, where I take my daily walks, and it’s also the perfect place for long, relaxed walks with dogs. I usually walk dogs around three times a day, depending on their needs and energy levels. I also feel comfortable giving medication if required and carefully follow any specific care instructions. A typical day with me includes a morning walk, feeding, and relaxed time at home, followed by play or another walk during the day, and a longer walk in the evening. Throughout the day, I make sure pets are engaged, comfortable, and never feel alone. I make sure dogs are not left alone for more than a maximum of 2 hours, so they always have consistent care and attention. I live in a spacious one-bedroom apartment with plenty of room for pets to feel comfortable, as well as a balcony for some fresh air. Pets usually stay close to me—whether that means sleeping on the couch or even in bed, depending on what they are used to. I am also able to care for multiple pets at the same time, as long as their needs and personalities are a good match. In case of emergencies or unexpected situations, I stay calm and act quickly. I make sure to follow your instructions, contact you immediately, and if needed, reach out to a local vet. Your pet’s safety and well-being always come first.
