Iva and Robin

We are ONLY able to care for dogs who are comfortable being alone for a few hours as we both have jobs. We are home a lot but not always. We also only take dogs that are not agressieve to others as we live in a dense area and there's people and dogs around. 

DESCRIPTION: We have been on Pawshake for more than 7 years, and we love it. We had dozens of dogs and many were, and remain, regular guests. We recently moved to the center of The Hague, and we have an apartment, about 70 m2 with a nice back yard. We live close to the Palace Garden. This is a densely populated area (our former neighborhood in Archipelbuurt was less so), so we prefer not to take in big dogs, especially males, and especially non-neutered bigger dogs. As we have to leave the house occasionally and don't want our neighbors disturbed, we also want the dogs to be able to stay home alone for a few hours without much barking or stress. We are also transitioning back into the office after corona, so for now we may be less available because of this reason (as schedules are still changing). That is why we also might not take puppies now.

Otherwise, we are two professionals, no kids, no pets. Robin is an architect, Iva is a professor of history, and we both love animals, and especially dogs. 

We also love long walks and nature, and we go to the parks around us as much as we can: Scheveningse Bosjes, Clingendael, Haagse Bosjes, etc. We started Pawshake because we wanted to meet nice dogs and it worked out beautifully. 

We have lots of experience - we both grew up around dogs, and we've been caring for them now through Pawshake for years. We are well suited for most dogs, but we prefer non-aggressive and well-adjusted dogs, because we live in a densely populated area where we meet in the street both dogs, people, cats, bikes, etc.
