Hi, I’m Umut.

I’ve been around animals for almost 20 years, and I’ve always had a special connection with cats. I truly love all animals, but cats hold a unique place in my heart. I feel like I understand their moods, their boundaries, and what makes them feel safe and happy.

All of my cats have been rescued from the street. I didn’t choose them – they somehow found their way to me, and we became family.

I used to have three cats. Sadly, my oldest girl, Firuş, passed away. I miss her every day. She was very special to me. Now I share my life with Yaşar and Hüsnü – and our bond is something words can’t fully explain. It’s a mix of love, trust, and mutual respect.

Since moving to the Netherlands, I’ve had the chance to meet and care for many different cats through Pawshake. Every cat is different, and that’s what I love the most – getting to know their personality and making sure they feel comfortable while their humans are away.

I don’t just feed and clean up; I take the time to play, cuddle (if they want!), and connect with them. I believe we might not speak the same language, but we definitely understand each other in other ways.
