Hi,

I have always loved animals and feel very lucky to have grown up surrounded by them. My family had two dogs with completely different personalities: a small Pekingese and a large Rottweiler. We also had a Siamese cat, so I grew up learning how to understand and care for animals with different temperaments, needs, and energy levels.

I have been living in the Netherlands for ten years. Because of my studies, international moves, and frequent travel in my previous job, the timing has not yet been right for me to have a pet of my own. However, I have always made sure my friends know that I am happy to care for their pets whenever they are away. Over the years, I have regularly looked after my friends’ cats and dogs, both in their own homes and in mine. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, giving them attention, playing with them, taking care of their routines, and making sure they feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away. My current work involves much less travel, and I hope to welcome a dog of my own into my life in the near future. And for now I would love to share my care and affection with other people’s pets.

I offer dog and cat boarding in my spacious apartment, including daytime care, overnight stays and longer stays. I accept only one booking at a time, so your pet receives plenty of individual attention and has a calm environment. Two pets are welcome when they come from the same household and are already comfortable living together.

I have experience caring for dogs of different sizes, energy levels and temperaments: small and large dogs, active dogs who enjoy long walks, calmer dogs who prefer shorter outings, playful dogs and more independent ones. I also have experience with cats with different routines and personalities. I follow each owner’s instructions regarding feeding, walking, playtime, rest and the pet’s usual daily schedule.

I can also provide:

• Dog walking, with the length and pace adapted to your dog

• Home visits for cats, including feeding, fresh water, litter-box care, playtime and company

• Regular photo and message updates while you are away 

Before a first booking, we can arrange a meet-and-greet so that you and your pet can see the apartment, get to know me and make sure everyone feels comfortable.

The length and details of each stay are flexible and can be discussed individually. My current availability is shown in the Pawshake calendar. Tuesdays are marked as unavaliable as this is my office day, so I am not at home from 8:30 till 16:30, but if you need to leave your pet with me till Tuesday morning or from Tuesday evening, that can be arranged.

I would be very happy to look after your pet and treat them with the same warmth, patience, and responsibility that I would want for my own.
