Over Yinan
I'm an experienced dog / cat sitter covering neighbourhood services. So far I have walked and daycared pets in a wide range of ages and sizes, and coped well with different personalities. It always melts my heart to get to know them a bit better. To resonate their playful energy and their candid emotions is a joy in my life. I work mostly remote, except one day in a week is usually reserved for office. Therefore plenty of opportunity to do this side hassle. Though I have to limit the service radius to 10 min bike ride to save the travel time.
I adopted my dog Lizzie since October 2023. A 2 year old female, 10kg corgi mix. She is sweet and calm, though she might not play with other dogs. Very selective in terms of socialisation. She's definitely the introvert type, and only starts to make friends after the second meet. When Lizzie realise she's safe with them, then she'll start to play. I have brought her along to dog walks a lot, no issues at all, always very peaceful, no matter of size or personality. But for daycare it can be problematic if other dog is highly socially demanding. In most of the cases she ignores other dog and enjoys her sleep in her bed. Therefore for daycare we prefer calm dogs, who can respect her wish to not play, and in principle small-medium sized dogs - this is because from my experience Lizzie would definitely not play with large size dogs and they're usually too energetic and dominant, potentially leading to frustration and agitation, and a scared poor Lizzie.
What can you expect?
Cat sitting: drop-in visit including adding food/ water, cleaning litter, playing and petting if they want to interact. I have also experience with applying medication to cats.
Dog walking: ~30min. At least 3 days ahead booking is preferred, so that I can arrange my schedule around it. If you're ok with me bringing Lizzie along, we can arrange meet up beforehand. All dog sizes and personalities are welcome.
Dog daycare: standard daycare covers by default the work hours, roughly 0900-1800. Extra time (>1h) can be discussed beforehand- this is to avoid conflict with other evening plans. Note that my dog Lizzie will be here, so we should meetup beforehand to make sure they get along. Based on past experience, we can only handle small-medium sized dogs, and preferably not too socially demanding, because Lizzie is kind of selective for play pals (I haven't figured out the pattern yet) and my work from home arrangement doesn't allow enough playtime with bigger dogs in daycare - unless they're calm and stable.
NB, I do also accept overnight boarding but only with very familiar dog friends, and that both parties are confident enough for the arrangement. We could start with dog walks together and house visits!
