I’m Janelle and I have been in Amsterdam/Badhoevedorp for three years with my Dutch partner. I am from the US and before reaching the Netherlands spent a year and a half traveling through South East Asia and living in Australia. Before this, the rainy city of Seattle has been my home since studying in University. I've recently had to say goodbye to my best friends - a Siberian Husky and an Alaskan Malamute who crossed the rainbow bridge in the last year. We've recently (April 2022) added a small, mixed breed female dog, Bowie (born October 2021), to our home. She's a rescue but has been calm, loving, and most excited to have another dog around the house, on a walk or in the park. I have a Masters degree in Social Work, but now I work from home for an awesome local company working on expat taxes! I have a completely flexible schedule, and since Bowie can stay alone or tag along if your pups would like - we can do solo walks or with Bowie. I can also do house sitting but then Bowie will likely need to join. For shorter home visits, she can stay of course at home. I can provide oral medications with significant experience with such. If your pet needs injections, I am happy to do this after meeting and a trial with this.

I have many years of experience in caring for my own, as well as other's animals (dogs and cats, small rodents and birds). I am comfortable with all types of dog breeds, and have years of personal experience walking three large - extra large dogs, at a time. I will ask to get to know more about your dog, to ensure their unique personality and quirks are attended to. I have had my own previous and now current experience with rescue-adopted dogs and dealt with behavioral differences as well. I have provided pet sitting in others' homes and my own home back in the States. I have cared for anywhere from 1-3 other dogs in a home setting, including the loveable mutts, labradors, German Shephards, daschunds, Yorkies, Pit Bulls, Chihuaha, Maltese, doodles, hounds, Bernese mountain dogs, and of course huskies and malamutes. I am a reliable, organized, energetic, and friendly individual who says hi to nearly every dog (ok, and their owners) on the street. I know the importance of pups getting out to have fun, exercise, get their sniffs in, and take care of their business as well. I am cautious and will ensure the safety of your dog and others while we are out exploring the town, parks, and gardens!

I'm living in Badhoevedorp - about 25 minute ride to Vondel Park - so for day visits, west of Vondelpark is best. With a new dog at home, I'm currently preferring to host pets at my house - though on exception may be able to sit at your home, provided Bowie can come along. I am happy to host at my home. I work from home, so I am able to be flexible and can stay with pets throughout the day and night. I take dogs out for 45-60 minute walks typically. For dogs that need shorter walks, on a home visit I’ll be there for one hour. I’m typically able to house sit at your home for up to one week (if my pup can join), but may be available for longer periods if needed. I’m happy to help with tasks at your home - ie plant care, mail, garbage, etc while you are away.

My home: I live in a house, with a fully fenced backyard. We are close to several dog friendly routes - wandelbos and along Sloten. I am happy to have pups stay on any level - though I can block the access to stairs if they shouldn’t be accessing them by a door. Our home is just my male partner and I, as well as Bowie. We both love dogs (well, all animals) and love a cuddle in bed or a sloppy kiss to wake us up!
