About us: animal lovers.

My name is Kathryn, a Canadian living in Holland for 5 years — me and my Dutch partner Bart are the owners of 2 cats, Peace and Cathy.

Both Bart and I have grown up with cats in the house, both vegan and are conscious with animal rights in modern society.

And that being said, we really are unapologetically known as “crazy cat people”!

At a party, in a shop, on vacation in the street, we always seem to find a feline friend wherever we go.

A little bit about our own pets:

Our babies are both rescues from Utrecht area, and both came to us in rough condition.

Cathy is an 8 year old special needs cat who had been formerly abused by her previous owner, and needed a safe space to live out her life in peace.

Speaking of, our adoption of Peace, an orphaned kitten who on top of her congenital growth issues, had come with every illness and parasite known to man!

Quarantining and nursing her back to health was a huge hardship for us, but underlines our passion for taking care and appreciating the vibrant yet fragile lives of these animals.

Relevant skills and qualifications:

We are highly experienced in serving wet and dry food, refreshing water, poop scooping/ litter control, cat cuddling (smooching if applicable), and making sure they are comfortable in every way.

Well practiced in the science of the feather string toy, with a prestigeous background in 'cats sitting on body part of choice'!

We have always offered sitting for friends and neighbours’ cats.

Particularly 2 illness-prone maine coons nearby, where we’d seen a few health related emergency situations — handled quickly and calmly, vet information on hand and being able to drive to the dierenarts hospital straight away was most helpful.

We work from home, so we are both quite flexible with our schedules.

Joining Pawshake on the side together, so that if one of us is busy there will always be someone to cover a visit!

But don’t worry, we’re both equally obsessed with making new feline friends :-)

My being from Canada, Bart and I have been away for long periods of time, so we understand entirely what it’s like to worry about our furbabies at home.

We are those people that ask for videos and pictures from our sitters (just because we miss them so much!)

We can’t wait to meet your fluffy 4-legged family member(s) and help you out while you’re away!
