My boyfriend Jan and I are working professionals in our mid 30s. We both love pets and have grown up with pets in our lives (dogs, cats, guinea pigs, even parrots and turtles). We are reliable and would take care of your pet as we would our own.

After 1,5 years of dog sitting (besides our family dogs) and getting experience with multiple breeds, in December 2022 we got our own dog, toy poodle female named Ruby, who was born in July 2022. She has a very friendly and open personality. We are open to taking care of other dogs that relate well to Ruby, as it's usually almost always more fun for doggies to have playmates. We prefer small & medium size dogs and for male dogs we have a strong preference that they are castrated. More pictures and videos of Ruby are on her IG account ruby_toypoodle_girl

Jan is Dutch and I'm originally from Romania and have been living in the Netherlands for over 10 years. Besides growing up with pets, in the past few years we hosted an adult labradoodle female for a few months in total (owned by Jan’s sister) and also did pet sitting for other breeds of various sizes and temperaments.

We live in an apartment located on a quiet street in Amsterdam Zuid, between Zuid station and Olympiaplein. Our apartment is on the second floor with a wide staircase so it’s easy to climb the stairs. We can carry small dogs (less than 5kg) on the stairs ourselves, heavier dogs need to be able to walk the stairs.

Right in front of the apartment there is a fenced dog play area (see our pictures). Several other green spaces are around our building and the Beatrixpark is within 10 minutes of walking distance. At the moment at least one of us is working from home on all week days, so at least one of us is able to take the dog staying with us for a long (45 min) walk in the Beatrix park or Vondelpark during lunchtime or evening and a few short walks (15 min) in the neighborhood during the day. We can go for a walk every 4-5 hours so for a full day of dog boarding, we provide an average of 5 walks. We are very open to adjust to the needs and habits of each pet so we can make their stay as comfortable as possible.

At the weekend we often go to the Amsterdam Forest or to other nature areas nearby Amsterdam.

As needed for longer stays, we can perform basic grooming such as brushing the coat, cleaning the under eye area, brushing teeth (if the dog is ok with this), administering medication.

Important: For dogs that we haven’t boarded before, we are open for 1 night of boarding and if it goes well we’re available for longer periods of boarding later. The trial night is either on Friday or Saturday.

Since we live in an apartment, we would like to host only dogs that are appropriate and used to living in an apartment.
