Hey there! 

I am Lucy and I live in Rijnburg near Leiden, with my boyfriend. We live in a very calm neighbourghood and close to parks. I work often from home and I have a car, so I can easily come to your house to take care of your dog or cat, or bring your pet to my house to take care of them. I love love all animals, as you can see on my pictures, but I prefer taking care of dogs and cats. Fun fact: I've been vegan for 7 years :)

Being a pet sitter is more than just a small thing for me – it's my passion. Ever since I was a kid, animals have been my jam, and looking after them is where I find my bliss. I do only prefer vaccinated pets at my place. I have spent my whole life with cats and dogs, but I missed them here in the Netherlands (I come from Croatia), this is a way for me to spend time with pets. Currently I do not own a pet here, and I prefer it that way to have flexibility with my time.

Why do I want to apply for this? Well, it's simple really. I believe every pet deserves loving care, especially when their owners are away. And I have fun spending time with them. Whether it's a quick walk or a longer stay, I'm all about making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved. I work as a construction project manager, and so does my boyfriend. I work from home mostly 3 days a week and 2 days I go to the office. If I work from home, I can babysit or sleepovers your pet at my home (I won't leave your dog alone), go to your home and work from there and baby sit the pet, or if you just need me to walk with your dog, I can do that. We can agree on anything. On the days I go to the office, I can walk with the dog in the evening or come feed/visit them at your home. I can combine this with getting your mail or watering the plants. If they sleep at my home, they can either sleep in the living room or in my office, but they can be around the whole apartment in general. We live on the ground floor, and we have a terrace and open garden in front of our apartment. I will always have your dog on the leash if opening the doors. With cats, they can also use the whole apartment, they can relax and enjoy, and if I open terrace doors, I will be of course super careful.

With some experience under my belt, I've got the whole pet sitting thing down pat. Need special diets followed or medication? No problemo! I've got it covered. I tailor my services to fit your pet's needs. Whether it's walks, sleepovers, or just some quality cuddle time, I'm your go-to gal. I do not offer training or grooming though, and I don't have experience with anxious/specific dogs. I usually walk around 2-3 parks around the area, or I go by car to Klink and walk there. The length and the number of the walks will depend on what your dog needs, of course, you let me know what the habits are, and I will do the same as you. I know that during your time away, you will miss your pet, so I gladly send pictures of them so you can stay connected!
