My boyfriend and I live in Leiden (near Voorschoten) and we both are Master Psychology students aged 26 and 23. Since we're spending a lot of time studying at home, we would love to have a pet (cat or dog) around with which we could play and cuddle, to see something different than our study material. ;) Your pet would get all the attention it needs since there's always one of us at home which also allows us to offer flexibility in the duration of the pet's stay, and lots of entertainment and love to give. We both love dogs and cats, I already had 2 dogs in my family back in Germany and I even had the pleasure to help to raise a wonderful puppy. For me, this is not a job, but more a wonderful opportunity to spend a lot of time with my most-favorite non-human companions. 

I already have experience with pet care and pet sitting and I know the responsibility that comes with it. A 100%, I will adapt my style of handling the pet (e.g., rules that they have to follow at home, lenient/or dominant handling style, use of treats, etc.) or certain schedules (e.g., duration and frequency of walking, feeding times, grooming routines, etc.) to the wishes or routines of the owner. IF we break out of the routine, it's only for the sake of offering the doggo some fun and variety, such as going for a walk at the beach, visiting different parks, or trying to teach them a new trick (if allowed). Please, don't be worried or taken aback about the language difference. My boyfriend and I are currently learning Dutch, so while we may not be able to fully answer in Dutch yet, we also understand your Dutch request. Moreover, we aspire to be international doggie communicators ;), so it will be fun for us to learn and use new international doggie/cat-related phrases in any language your dog/cat is used to. Still, rest assured, of course, we are familiar with the universal doggie/cat body language and are also able to confidently communicate and respond to their needs with our body language/behavior/change in voice.

We would love to take care of the dog/cat in our own home, a 78 m² spacious first-floor apartment in Leiden (near Voorschoten), providing enough space for playing and also two dog-safe balconies to hang out. There are beautiful parks and places around and right next to our apartment to take dogs for long walks (see pictures), so we won't have to walk through urban environment first. Your dog would have access to all the rooms in our apartment in between walks (see one of our rooms in the pictures).

All in all, we offer flexible times, so you can decide whether your pet stays with us just a morning or the whole day. We're also happy to take care of your pet if you decide to go on a longer pet-free vacation (e.g., a few days, more than a week, etc.) or overnight (also just one night is possible of course). We also offer to pick up the pet at your home (e.g., by car) and bring it back after its stay. Additionally, house visits (1 hour each) are possible, in which we offer to feed your animals, water your plants, go for a walk or clean the litterbox, and enjoy a bit of playing. In any case, we will give you daily updates and pictures so that you can enjoy your time away and do not have to miss your pet so much.
