Who am I?

My name is Sabine, a Dutch 28 years old woman and a cat-lover all my life, growing up with them and wanting to have one since forever. My boyfriend and I recently moved in together and we have adopted a kitten named Yuki! She is 3/4 Turkish Van and shares her nature with the breed. She is very playful but also very cuddly. We couldn't be happier with her! This doesn't mean that I don't want to take care of other cats however, as petting cats in cat cafe's, on the street or at friends places is part of my weekly schedule :) I need to get my purring fix!

Experience with cats

As I grew up with cats, I know that the most important thing about taking care of cats is respect: if they do not want to be stroked, leave them be. They will come to you when they are ready. I remember the first cat I grew up with, Bilbo (named after the famous Hobbit), a feisty red lady who could scratch suddenly without warning. Lured in by her beautiful fur, I did pet her as a small child, but whenever she looked at me I immediately backed away, knowing her rapidly changing temper. My next cat Smartie was quite the opposite of Bilbo, never hurting anyone but also shy at first, her being adopted as a kitten from an animal shelter. I was her human, however, so she slept on my belly every night and purred while drooling (her own cute quirk). In the last two years I have cat-sitted twenty-five cats with varying characters. Some of them were shy, some of them immediately wanted to be stroked, but all of them felt at ease with me in the end :)

What I offer

What I offer mostly is love and devotion: I know and love cats and most cats seem to know this about me, the shiest cat coming to me for a brief petting session. I can feed them, brush them, play with them, inject medicine and take them to the vet if necessary. If you like what you read, please contact me! The most important thing, of course, is that the cat (or another animal, in case you have a rabbit or guinea pig), is comfortable with me :) Cats make me happy, so let me make your cat happy too!
