Over Margaret

Hello! My name is Margaret, 27 years old, and I am a post grad student from Utrecht University. I’ve lived in the Netherlands for 5 years now, but unfortunately ik spreek geen Nederlands. I’ve been around animals my whole life and have cared for pets of my own for most of my life. Even since I was little I would help my mom volunteer at our local animal shelter.

I do not have as many pets here in the Netherlands as I did in the U.S. so this is the main reason I have signed up for this service, just to be around animals a bit more.

I am a patient person with people and animals and understand that we all have boundaries. So I don’t mind taking a bit of extra time to get to know your furry friend. With my cat at home, I talk to them quite a bit because I always find it makes them more comfortable and calms them down so I look forward to having great conversation with yours.

General Notes for Care

I am very good at giving medication, so this is also possible. I have many clients and cats of my own who have had/have diabetes so injections are not a problem at all.

If veterinary care is needed and you can’t make it to the vet for any reason I don’t mind taking your fur baby to the vet and keeping you updated the whole time. This will cost a bit extra because of transportation and extra time.

Notes for dog walking:

I am no longer accepting clients who require walks longer than 45 minutes. I appreciate your understanding!

With walking I am very comfortable implementing and encouraging good behaviors and practitioners benefit both the dog and owner such as practice stopping at crossings and waiting for signal to continue across. An important skill for the safety of both the pet and owner/walker.

Please also note that due to my changing schedule and it's dependence on changing clients that I will try my best to complete walks at the time wishes but in some cases there might be a delay. I will always inform you of this if it's greater than 15 min and I appreciate your understanding!

Notes for daily visits:

I will always check/clean litter boxes and replace water at each visit.

I like to meet before the booking to both pick up the key but also meet the pet with the owner around and to completely understand where food, litter, toys, etc are.

I always send pictures and sometimes videos at every visit to make sure you are updated and feel comfortable that your fue baby is doing well while you're away.

30-45 min is the amount of time I can guarantee for each visit. However depending on my schedule there may be times I stay longer.

A certain fee will be added if the location of your house is beyond my comfortable distance of travel to maintain my schedule. At the moment this is a €1 for every extra minute above 15 min of travel time via bike.

In case of extreme weather or circumstances beyond my control in which I have to take public transport I do appreciate reimbursement for my extra time and cost from me.

If you are away for an extended period I will always check if any plants need to be watered. I just ask you inform me of their location during our initial meeting.

Notes for Doggy Day Care/ boarding:

Most importantly I do have a cat (kitten at the moment). Your dog must have not shown aggression towards cats before.

I can not keep a cat at my house overnight as it would be too my stress for my own cat but day care for limited hours is a possibility.

Total price will be calculated by 24 hrs not by nights. So if you drop off your pet early on a Friday and pick up late on a Sunday you will pay for 3 "nights". Certain agreements can be arranged given the scenario and timing.

I will do my best to adhere to the dogs eating and walking schedule.

I like to schedule a time before the booking to meet you and your pet as to make them as comfortable as possible when coming to a new place.

Margaret was very quick with responding and took great care of my cat Inieminie while I was on holidays. I received daily updates and pictures, which was great! My cat also had to take some medication, but she did not want to take/eat it properly at first.
