I am Ophélie, 30 years old. I am French, I moved from Paris to Rotterdam 2 years ago. Having grown up in a home filled with 3 cats and 2 dogs (Chihuahua and mixed breed Beauceron/Braque) in Paris, and not being able to have pets by myself in a rented flat, I miss it a lot. That's why I want to offer my services, to help people, take care of their pets and enjoy their companionship.

My extensive experience with pets is rooted in a lifelong passion. From a young age, I learnt to understand and to meet the needs of animals, whether it was caring for a playful puppy, soothing an anxious cat, or ensuring all our pets felt loved and secure. This daily interaction taught me the nuances of pet behavior, from recognizing subtle signs of discomfort to knowing how to create a safe and engaging environment for each animal. Over the years, I've honed my ability to handle different breeds, temperaments, and special needs, giving me a well-rounded and empathetic approach to pet care. Pet sitting is not only a responsibility for me but also a way to enjoy the companionship of pets, ensuring they are happy and comfortable while their owners are away. My deep-rooted connection with animals ensures that your pets will be cared for with the same dedication and attention to detail that I've provided to my own furry family members throughout my life. 

The services I offer are : 

House sitting

Each animal has its own needs, its own diet, and its own feeding schedule, its hygiene treatment, so I will carefully follow the instructions you give me. Also, being aware of the need for companionship in pets, I always take the time to play with and cuddle your animals. 

Regarding medications, I have seen my cats and dogs grow old and get sick, so I am used to administering oral medication in time and safely. This can be discussed prior to the booking, to align on the instructions, and confirm with you that I am capable of giving the medication.

Dog Walking

As for the house sitting, I believe the most impostant is to understand your pets needs.

Cmmunication and trust is very important between the owner and the petsitter. I expect from you to give me all the information needed regarding health, injuries, preferences (leash, no leash, playing with other dogs or shy dog preferring calm, ...), toys to play with, phobias/traumatism.

I grew up with an adopted dog that has suffered abuse in his young days and since is very wary, scared of noises and men. This kind of information is very important so I can be aware of that and take into account when I walk them.

Length of the walk can be adjusted on a 30 minutes basis minimum.

I am available before work around 7 am and after work around 5:30pm. These hours can also be discussed and adjusted,specially during week-ends where I have more flexibility.

Home Visits

My availabilisity is the same as for the dog walking, additionally, I can come at lunch time (working from home)if your house is close to mine. If it does suit you, and if the I could also work from your place to ensure companionship, from 8 am to 5 pm, with your pets during work days. That is to be aligned between us (additional fee)

I understand the purpose of these visits is to provide care to your pets but also to check that everything is in order in your home.

Aware that it must be difficult for the pet owner to trust the stranger, I communicate a lot with you and will let you know if I notice any inusual behaviour of your pet, to discuss together and find a solution.

Also, if I live close by and feel that your animal needs additional attention, I will do extra visits to check on him/her, on a free basis. That's why I will prioritize bookings for pets living in the same neighboughood (Blaak and then Coolhaven from 15th January 2025).

When I petsit, I take care of your pet as if it is mine. She/he will have my full attention.
