Hi! My name is Fia Stratton.
I am in Rotterdam studying at Erasmus University College, working towards getting my Bachelor in Science. I am 19, and I
love dogs. I am American but lived in Bangkok, Thailand for the last 6 years. In Bangkok, I have two puppies (named Milo and Dee Dee). They are street dogs (we call them Soi dogs in Bangkok, 'soi' means street). Milo was rescued from The Soi Dog Foundation, and Dee Dee I rescued when we found her and her siblings in a parking lot. I took her and her siblings to the vet to get them vaccinated, and ensured that all of her siblings were adopted and in good homes. Both of these pups
being rescues, I've had to put extra effort into them becoming
well trained, and eventually, the hard work paid off! Back home in America, I have another dog named Willow (a Goldendoodle). She is adorable and stays with my grandparents in Vermont.
I have loved dogs ever since I was little. I am always the one in the family to stay home and take care of the dogs, ensure that they have been walked at least three times a day, and feed them. Any time I walk along the street and see a dog, I can't contain my excitement! I (arguably
embarrassingly) will never fail to go up to the owner and ask if I can pet their dog, what their name is, their breed, etc. My dogs are my confidants and my babies! I don't know what I would do without them. My Superlative when I graduated from high school was "most likely to at the age of 25 have 30 dogs and live on a farm". I always enjoy going on walks and whenever my dogs are happy, I am happy.
Taking care of and essentially raising 2/3 of my dogs, I have become quite the puppy wrangler. When we go on walks, I ensure that they are well behaved and walking without pulling on the leash. I think that I am also very good with dogs in general. I always know when and how to play, and more importantly, I am generally able to tell when there is something wrong, and what uncharacteristic behavior looks like.
If you are looking for a dog walker, I will be able to walk them for however long you like, but if you don't have preferences they will generally be 30 minutes - 1 hour long. My home visits will also be around those times. If you are looking for home boarding or daycare, I will be the person who takes care of your dog. I don't have any pets of my own in Rotterdam. My home is large enough for myself and a dog! There isn't room in the house to play, but if they stay with me there will be many trips to the park in Kruisplein!
Because I am a university student, I'm not available during the times that I have class. However, my schedule is very flexible and I generally only have a class for 3 hours out of the day. This leaves me loads of time to spend with your pet!
I am motivated to be a pet sitter because being in Rotterdam away from my home and family and puppies, I have missed being around dogs. I look forward to meeting your dogs! If you choose to work with me, I will be delighted to get to know your best friend! :)
