Melinda

My name is Melinda Badenhorst, I am 27 years old and I am originally from sunny South Africa. In 2020 I moved to Amsterdam and started a PhD position at Vrije Universiteit Medisch Centrum (VUmc) with a project topic in cancer research. 

I love Amsterdam and I enjoy living in the city a lot, however, the only thing missing in my life: pets! I love animals (and they love me!). Hopefully in the near future I can once again get a pet of my own, but until then I would love to take care of yours and have that animal connection that I miss. Back home in South Africa I had an adorable cat, called Kattie. I also have prior experience taking care of friend's and co-worker's pets, since I would always jump at the opportunity to be someone's pet sitter.

Like I mentioned, I am currently pursuing a PhD, which makes my daily working schedule relatively flexible. I mostly determine my own work hours and can come to your home for a visit essentially any time of the day. I am mostly free after hours and most weekends.

I can offer the following services at your home: daily visits once or twice (as needed) to feed your cat/dog, clean their food dishes and litterbox, play and cuddle with them and make them feel calm while you are away. Although I have more experience with cats, I do love dogs as well and would be thrilled to take care of and give your dog the attention it deservs! If you would prefer it, I am also willing to come by in the evenings and stay over at your home.

I am reliable, punctual, trustworthy and have good time management capabilities. I can assure you that in my care, your pet would be as happy upon your return as when they were before you left!
