Katharin

Hi there! My name is Katharin, I'm 25 years old and originally from Germany. I've been living in Amsterdam for four years now and I moved here to go to uni. I recently started working full-time at adidas, but I work from home most days. Before moving here, I lived in Australia for a few years - which is where I fell in love with a life filled with dogs. I always asked friends and family whether I could take out their dogs for walks, to the beach or simply play and cuddle with them at home. The happiness and love that dogs radiate is what I love most about them and I definitely believe that dogs are simply too good for this world. Unfortunately, I'm not allowed to have a dog in my apartment permanently, which is why I'm now looking for other ways to fill that gap in my heart through dog sitting! 

My experience 

Previously, I have looked after dogs of all ages and sizes and with many different backgrounds. For example, I was responsible for looking after a puppy from a breeder that just joined a family with little kids. Also, I looked after dogs that just got adopted from shelters and rescue organisations. Lastly, I've also looked after all kinds of family dogs. All of this included walking / going on excursions, feeding, administering medications, overnight stays and boarding whilst the owners were away.

My apartment & surroundings

As I live very close to Westerpark, I live in the ideal environment for dog walking - including off-leash areas. I live in an apartment on the fourth floor together with my boyfriend, who is also a dog lover. Please note that there is no elevator, but I would be happy to carry small and medium-sized dogs if they can't walk up and down the stairs.

What's important to me if you were to entrust your animal to me - in whatever capacity this may be - is that you're open and honest about everything that I may need to know about e.g. the dog's health and behaviour, so that we can both make an informed decision.
