Hi! 

My partner and I just moved to Amsterdam for an 18-month work contract, and unfortunately we had to leave our two dogs at home with friends in Canada. 

We currently have two Wheaten Terriers in Canada, age 12 and 6. We adopted the older dog from a shelter after she was rescued from a puppy mill at 7 years old. Three weeks after bringing her home, she had 11 puppies in our living room. Of course we decided to keep one of the puppies, and they're inseperable now! We have experience with shelter/rescue dogs and any behavioural issues that can come with that, and we've both had quite a few puppies before.

We live right next to Westerpark on a 100m2 floating home, which has a small outdoor patio area. The home has quite a lot of open area to play around in, and since it's pretty much all one room it's very easy for us to keep your dog in sight at all times!

We both work full-time from home, so we're around pretty much all day, every day and have very flexible schedules outside of work. We can provide a very stable companion for any dog with separation anxiety. 

We'll follow whatever your dog's normal routine is, but expext to do a minimum of 2 longer walks a day and 2-3 short walks. Being so close to the park, we can also offer plenty of play time in the off-leash areas if that's something your dog is used to, or walks/runs along the trails. Whatever the energy level of your dog, we can make it work!

We have food and water bowls, treats, dog towels and blankets, and a few toys at our house already, but please make sure to bring a leash/harness, poop bags, and some favourite toys for puppies. For overnight guests, note that we're happy to have dogs on the couch and in our laps, but we don't let dogs in bed. Please bring your dog's bed/blanket/crate and ensure your dog is comfortable sleeping on its own (can be right next to our bed, just not in it!).

Of course we'd be happy to send you daily photo/video updates so you know what your dog is getting up to, and we're happy to meet you at our house before booking!
