Sophie & Nick

Hi! We're Sophie and Nick, the pet-loving power couple in the heart of Amsterdam. We live on Ceintuurbaan, right by the water & 5 minutes away from Sarphatipark.

Sophie: I am 25 years old, from Vienna, Austria and have lived in Amsterdam for the past 7 years studying and working as a graphic designer. I've graduated and am now working on a freelance-basis so am home for most of the week and I love to have some dog company and motivation to go outside for walks :). I have owned a medium-sized dog (Puggle) for the past 13 years in Vienna and therefore have experience in feeding, walking, and keeping dogs happy, in addition to administering (prescribed!) medication and some dog training.

I have been looking after dogs for 6 years through Pawshake, and before that for friends and family. Since starting on Pawshake, I've taken care of a lot of different sized dogs, at a lot of different ages, and each with different needs. I will always make sure that your dog feels comfortable and safe in my home!! A little bit more about me: I am really interested in music, design, and photography :). I also love reading and relaxing at the end of the day, snuggling up on the couch with a soft cuddle buddy.

Nick: I am a 24-year-old full-time student from Belgium, currently pursuing my Master's degree (from home) in International Relations. I came to Amsterdam five years ago to study PPLE at the University of Amsterdam, spending my time between there and my home in Belgium. Now I spend my days studying and writing my thesis from home, meaning I have lots of time to walk and play and run around with the doggos while I procrastinate :).

I have been dog sitting for 3 years, and before that was lucky enough to live with and take care of our three family dogs: a pair of medium-sized twin Shiba Inu's (Kelly and Kiara), and a much bigger, much goofier Bernese mountain dog (Twix). Over the past year I've had the pleasure of looking after all sorts of dogs of all breeds, ages and sizes and have gotten in tune with the unique needs and personalities of a bunch of different pups, learning how to make each dog as happy as he or she can be. Besides my studies, you might find me watching movies on the couch, reading the news, or listening to podcasts while I walk through Amsterdam — all things best enjoyed with a dog by my side :)

Concerning our services: For any of our services, we do offer to pick up your pet(s) if necessary! Of course, we can organize a meeting between (one of) us and your furbabies before committing to anything!!!

If you book us for Pet Boarding, we will walk your dog 4-5 times a day, depending on your dog's needs. We will try our best to stick to you and your dog's regular schedule so that your pup is not too disoriented by the new situation. Depending on the weather, we try to go to the park with your dog every second day at least!

When booking us for Day Care, you can expect us to walk your dog around 3 times a day, depending on your dog's needs. We spend lots of time playing with your pups so they will never have to feel lonely or be left alone!

For dog walking, we will walk your dog for around 45 minutes. If you live close to a park we will usually go to this park.

Home visits last for about 1 hour.
