Hi! My name is Mariia, and I live in a cosy apartment in Alkmaar together with my boyfriend.

I work as a recruiter in a job agency, and animals have always been a big part of my life. My family has two dogs, and when I lived with them, our home always had pets around — so caring for animals feels natural and familiar.

My boyfriend and I are planning to get our own dog in the future, but before taking that step, we want to understand what it’s like to have a pet in our daily routine. That’s why I registered as a pet sitter: to offer a warm, safe, and loving space for your dog or cat while you’re away.

We also have an empty separate room (a lodgia) that can be fully dedicated to your pet. It’s a quiet and comfortable space where they can sleep or relax, but pets are of course also welcome in the living room.

What services do I offer?

✔️ Dog boarding (1 pet per night, or 2 dogs if they live together)

Your dog or cat can stay overnight in our home. They can sleep in the lodgia or in the living room — wherever they feel most comfortable.

✔️ Daycare

I can spend the whole day with your pet during weekends and on the days when I work from home or have a weekday off. On these days, your pet will only be left alone for a maximum of 1 hour, for example if I need to go to the supermarket.

✔️ Dog walks (2–3 times per day)

My walks are usually 3–10 km, depending on the needs and energy of your dog.

❌ Medication

I cannot administer medication.

❌ Grooming or training

I do not offer grooming or training services.

How much time can I spend with your pet?

During daycare, I am home all day.

During boarding, I can often work from home, so your pet is supervised almost the whole day.

Pets will never be left alone for more than 3 hours.

I can supervise pets 24/7 when needed.

My schedule is flexible:

I often work from home one weekday, and on that day I can spend the whole day with your pet and walk with them three times per day.

If I work from home on a Saturday, I also get one weekday off and one additional weekday to work from home.

For example: if I work from home on Saturday, I might have Wednesday off and work from home on Thursday.

On these home days, your pet will be with me all day.

On days when I go to the office, I can still walk your pet in the morning before 9:00 and again in the evening around 17:00, and they will spend the whole evening with me. So even on office days, your pet still receives plenty of attention, time, and care.

What is my home like?

We live in a one-bedroom apartment with a separate lodgia — perfect as a quiet space for your pet.

Pets may sleep in the lodgia or in the living room.

I live with my boyfriend; we have no children and no pets of our own.

We do not have a backyard.

Important notes

I host one pet at a time, or two dogs if they are a bonded pair.

Your pet will receive lots of attention, long walks, playtime, and a calm environment.
